GM in circuit board glitch recall

General Motors will recall more than 38,000 vehicles, from Chevrolet Malibu Eco, Buick LaCrosse and Regal sedans built in the U.S. before December 2012.

Circuit boards in cars equipped with ‘eAssist’ mild hybrid system, would overheat, causing loss of battery charge, or in some cases, fire in the trunk.

Other problems include the illumination of a malfunction indicator light. The ‘eAssist’ battery isn’t affected by the glitch. Ignoring the warnings could cause the engine to stall.
